Japan Through Time (“this site”) is run by HatHat Design and introduces the history of Japan. This page explains what information this site collects and what it does not.
Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are read and how often.
According to Cloudflare:
- It does not use cookies or other storage in your browser (such as localStorage).
- It does not identify or track individual visitors using IP addresses, browser details, or any other data.
- It does not record the part of a web address after the “?” (the query string).
The information counted includes:
- the pages viewed
- the site you came from
- your country
- your device type (computer, phone, etc.), browser, and operating system
- how long pages take to load
We use this only to understand how pages are read and how quickly they load.

Emails to us
If you email us, we use your name, email address, and message only to reply to you. We keep them only as long as needed to reply and to continue the conversation.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, such as museums and local governments, as sources. How those sites handle your information depends on their own policies.
